We, Chairs of the Human Rights Council, Anna Olichwer and Zofia Stelmaszczyk, would like to cordially invite you to join us in the Human Rights Council during this year’s StetiMUN conference.
Most people think or would like to think, slavery is not a current issue. The main goal of Human Rights Council is creating a world in which all people are equal and free. Sadly, despite the fact that human rights are inherent to all human beings, regardless of nationality, sex, religion or social status, numerous people’s rights are still being neglected, if guaranteed at all. At this year’s conference, as Human Rights Council, we wish to concentrate on the problem of modern slavery. It is estimated there are 30 million modern slavery victims, reported in 167 countries, out of which 140 criminalize all forms of human trafficking.
Thus, this year we have decided to focus on the following topics concerning modern slavery:
1. Putting an end to the practice of organ harvesting
2. Undertaking measures to eradicate forced labour and debt bondage
We do hope you will become acquainted with your country’s policy, as all delegates are required to vote accordingly during the debates.
Should you have any further inquiries, do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to effectual debates and an enriching experience.
